Calrossy MacBook program
We have had a very successful year with the new MacBook Program with our current Year 7 and 10 students.
In 2020, our new Year 7 students as well as Year 10 students will join the 1:1 MacBook Program. This will mean that by 2021 all students at Calrossy will have their own school-managed MacBook for learning.
As a reminder, parents will be invoiced as part of their school fees a Technology Levy of $150 per term and the school will supply your students with a MacBook laptop, a rugged case, all necessary software licensing (including Microsoft and Adobe software) and AppleCare+ insurance. Having a school-owned MacBook which is allocated to the student also means that the School’s ICT Team can manage the set-up and distribution of the MacBooks, pushing out and updating software as well as handling any warranty or damage claims that a student may have.
More detailed information about processes and Frequently Asked Questions can be found on The Hub Parent Dashboard under the Technology tab or by following this link https://thehub.calrossy.nsw.edu.au/homepage/1564
Some parents have asked about something to put under the Christmas tree that will complement the MacBook that the students will receive in the first week of the new year. A hard case for the laptop is a great idea and can be purchased from local retailers or online for less than $30. Just search for a MacBook Air 13” hard cover/case and there will be many options to choose from. The school requests that students use the outer ‘soft’ case provided as it has been tested to offer superior protection against drops and bumps while transporting the device.
If you have any questions, feel free to email itsupport@calrossy.nsw.edu.au and we will be happy to assist.
We look forward to the continued successful implementation of this program and to seeing the educational benefits that it brings for our students.
