VCE Subject Selection

Year 10 and Year 11 students are now finalising their online subject selections. It is very important that the right choices are made at this point. All students have had access to first-class careers and subject advice from senior teaching staff and the careers teachers. I hope that everyone is happy and settled with the decisions that they have made.

However, if any student is still a little unsure about their intended course, I encourage them to keep asking questions. Students and parents can contact subject teachers; Heads of Faculty; Heads of House or the Careers teachers. It is much easier to change a subject at this stage than a month into next year.

We are pleased to be able to offer VCE Religion and Society at Year 11 and Year 12 next year. This is an excellent subject, particularly for students interested in the Humanities/English field; I encourage students to find out more about this subject and can seek further information from Mr Perri and include it in their program.

Uniform

This Monday, I spoke to Brookhill students about their role as leaders within the College community. Younger students, parents and community members look to Brookhill students to gauge the level of professionalism of the College as a whole. Unfortunately, many Brookhill students are letting themselves and the College down with their poor uniform.

All students are expected to have sufficient uniform items to get them through the week; Brookhill students are expected to take personal responsibility for ensuring their uniform is clean and ready to wear each morning. Far too many students are turning up in sports uniform, with excuses such as: “Mum didn’t wash my uniform.”; “My pants were still wet.”; “I left my uniform at the gym/my friend’s house/my grandparents’ house/the lobby of a hotel in Memphis”.

Can I please ask parents to support the College in our uniform policy and encourage your children to make sure they are attired correctly?
