World Vision 40-Hour Famine (17 to 19 August)

Aitken College has supported the World Vision 40-Hour Famine since 1999, the year we commenced. That is 20 years in a row! The 40-Hour Famine is a major fundraiser for the College and we invite all students from Years 3 to 12 to participate in a manner which they feel is possible for them. There are two strategies this year. There is the 40-Hour Back-Pack Challenge for students who want to really identify with the world refugee problem. (Details are on the World Vision website) They pack a bag with all they need, and live out of it for 40 hours. This means some sensible choices, similar to those a refugee must make when they flee for their lives. For others, the traditional "give up something for a time" is offered. We encourage students and families to take this opportunity to make the world a better place. All money will go to World Vision to support the huge refugee crisis the world currently faces. As parents you can play a big part in encouraging and sponsoring your child to be a part of the 2018 World Vision 40-Hour Famine.
