GERMAN SCHOOL FILM FESTIVAL

On Thursday 24 October, the Year 9 and 10 German classes were excited to attend the Goethe Institute’s German School Film Festival. Students had worked during class time to write their German scripts and completed five short films for this competition. Two of our film clips made it into the finals which were screened at ACMI on Federation Square that day.
Leaving at lunch time allowed for a very German lunch at the Hofbräuhaus and students and teachers indulged in sausages, chicken schnitzel and apple strudel. Then it was only a short walk to Federation Square to the Film Festival screening of the later years’ films. With our two films in the competition “Die Superheldinnen” and “Verrückte Jungs” we were awaiting the judging with some
excitement. And we could not believe it - “Verrückte Jungs” came in third place!
Congratulations to all participants and the successful film makers!
