ART SHOW

OPENING NIGHT - THURSDAY 7 NOVEMBER

The McKinnon 2013 Art Show was held on Thursday 7 November with some 750 people in attendance.  The Arts/Technology Centre courtyard was the setting for the presentation ceremony and happily, the forecast rain did not eventuate!

Ms Sandie Wright, a local Sculptor and Mosaic Artist, who also works as an Artist in residence, was our guest speaker and officially opened this year’s Art Show.  Our guest speaker commented very positively on the standard of excellence of our students’ practical work and on the breadth of subject matter and technical skills evidenced throughout the exhibition. 

Our awards program is designed to encourage and highlight talented students within our College & provide recognition of their art works generated over the school year.  Our 146 Art Award recipients received a certificate and a gift of art materials or a cheque, kindly donated by our sponsors.

Everybody who attended the opening of our annual Art Show, was asked to vote for their favourite artwork in the Junior School and their favourite artwork in the Senior School. The winner for each category wins a cash prize and certificate. The winners will be announced at a General Assembly next year.
