ASSISTANT PRINCIPALS’ REPORT

PEER SUPPORT
All Year 10 students will participate in Peer Support training sessions after the conclusion of exams and classes, on Thursday 28 November and Friday 29 November. The Peer Support sessions provide students with a supportive learning environment in which to develop skills and attitudes to support their own wellbeing, and the wellbeing of others. The program assists students to develop resilience, assertiveness and leadership skills. At the conclusion of the training a group of students is selected to become Peer Support Leaders. These students will work with our new Year 7 students in 2014 to assist their transition into secondary school.
2014 BOOKLISTS
Booklists for 2014 will be provided to students in the coming weeks. Families can either order texts and stationery to be home delivered, visit Campion’s retail outlet or arrange to collect a prepackaged order from our Gym in late January (or late December for VCE students). We encourage families to select the prepackaged collection option, as it should be the most convenient method to purchase your textbooks. Details and cut-off dates for orders are on the booklist itself. Orders for texts and stationery can be made online - simply follow the link on our website.
SCHOOL BLAZERS AND SENIOR SCHOOL JACKETS, TERM 4
If the forecast temperature is predicted to be above 25 degrees on a school day then Blazers and Senior School jackets are not required to be worn to and from school in Term 4. Students will be required to have their School Blazer or Senior Jacket with them at school every day for official school activities, such as receiving awards at school assemblies or attending excursions. An announcement will be made at the end of day to clarify the wearing of Blazers or Jackets to and from school should the temperature exceed 25 degrees.
IMPORTANT NOTICE (RE: UNIFORMS)
From 2014 the Senior School Jacket is to be worn by Year 11 and 12 students only. This decision was debated and approved by the Senior School Council. This means that all current Year 9s who have purchased the School Blazer will wear it during 2014 as their compulsory outer garment.
