Are You Our Next Young Leader of the West?

IPC (Improving, Promoting, Community health have been successful in receiving funding from the Victorian Responsible Gambling Foundation and is excited to be leading Young Leaders of the West program, a 2-year project, in partnership with Sons of the West – the Western Bulldogs and Brimbank’s City Council.

Our Young Leaders of the West program centres around the recruitment of young people, between the ages of 16-25, who live, work or play in the City of Brimbank as ambassadors to co-design a gambling awareness and prevention program that engages other young people and communicates responsible gambling to peers and the community.

As part of the project we will be holding workshops with our young leaders and working with them to co-design, promote and pilot prevention initiatives that will target other young people in the community.

Recruitment for our Young Leaders has just commenced and we are keen to fill spots with young people who are passionate and enthusiastic about improving the health of our community. Sessions will run Tuesdays from

5-7pm for four fortnights starting the 17th April at the Visy Cares Hub in Sunshine.

If you, or someone you know, is aged between 16 and 25 and either lives, works or plays sport in Brimbank, IPC Health would like to hear from you. You will receive an incentive for your time upon completion of four co-design sessions.  RSVP by April 16 to either Karen Steenbergen on 0457 513 601 or Stephanie Papadimitropoulos on 9219 7192 for further discussion.
