Big Brekky

Don't forget our Big Brekky (Welcome Breakfast) is on tomorrow Friday 24th February commencing at 8:00 am.

All families are welcome to join us for breakfast in the central courtyard and feast upon a range of pastries, fruit, sausages, juice and tea and coffee (a Coffee Van will be on-site).

It will be a time to catch up, meet new people and just enjoy the new year.

We hope to see you all there!

Headphones

Can we please ask all families to ensure their child/ren brings a pair of headphones or earphones to school that can be left in their tub to use with their Chromebook or iPad when required. This allows children to listen to audio without disturbing the rest of the class.

OSHCLub News

As champions of play, OSHClub are excited to launch their new National Program on Monday 20th February.

Purposefully designed around play their new programs deliver a range of fun activities that are created for children.

Their newly designed morning program – now known as Rise then Shine - will set children up for a great day ahead and help them get ready and raring to learn; and the afternoon program – now known as Stay and Play - is designed to help children unwind at the end of the day with their friends, support new meaningful connections to grow, and help them be ready to connect with their family at the end of the day.

The program includes a new national library of supporting resources including Adventure Activity Cards that are contained in the unique Adventure Box and in a national program document library.

The Adventures are created for children, and the best part is that children will choose which Adventure they would like to bring to life every day.

The Adventures have been developed in conjunction with a panel of experts in childhood development and best-practice playtime, and fall under seven JAG developed ‘Domains of Play’ to guide children and their educators in various child-led activities.

JAG’s New Seven Domains of Play:

  • Flavour Fest With a focus on cooking and nutrition experiences we build the life-skills and knowledge needed to build healthy habits.
  • Global Kids Developing and exploring life-skills and world experiences and by being good global citizens with a focus on community and sustainability.
  • Brain Boosters Code breaking, puzzles and captivating games and science experiments and exploring the world through STEM.
  • Power Teams Building team skills for life through games, challenges and group activities.
  • Super Sports Sporty sessions to help kids develop the skills to set them up for an active life.
  • Creative Inventors Creative play with a mix of expressive arts, materials, and crafts to fuel the inventor inside.
  • Zen Masters From Yoga to Random Acts of Kindness we practice skills and exercises to promote happiness, mindfulness and wellbeing that balances the mind and bod.

The new National Program will offer children Adventures that far exceed the required frameworks and OSHClub have every confidence that these amazing experiences will unlock the knowledge, skills and behaviours that children need to enable them to shine in a complex and ever-changing world, preparing them for a world yet to be imagined.

Big Day Out

It's back! In the lead up to Catholic Education Week our Big Day Out: Combined Schools Celebration has been scheduled for Thursday 9th March.

We, along with children from St Augustine's and Annunciation Primary Schools, will celebrate  Mass at St Augustine’s Church at 10:30 am followed by a sausage sizzle lunch and activities run by KABOOM SPORTS.

We will have an early snack break prior to departing but it is suggested children bring along some additional healthy snacks to eat when needed.

For lunch children will receive:

  • 1 sausage in bread
  • 1 fruit drink box

If this is not sufficient, or your child doesn't eat sausages, children are to bring additional food items.

Children are to wear their SPORTS uniform (including hat) and are to bring a small backpack containing their water bottle and snacks. Please make sure EVERYTHING is labelled.

We will depart by bus from Corpus Christi at approximately 10:00 am and return around 3:00 pm.

Please keep your eye out for the Operoo form which will be distributed shortly seeking permission for your child to attend.

God bless
