ART

Art has been all about the elements colour and line the past few weeks. In Grade 1/2 we’ve been exploring mark making with different items such as oil pastels and how we can make marks and be creative in different ways other than just ‘drawing.’ The 1/2 students vibrant ‘Vegemite and Milo Pop Art’ works are displayed down the corridor so be sure to come in and check them out, they are awesome! In 3/4 and 5/6 we’ve continued on with our Lolly ‘Andy Warhol’ inspired Pop Art creations and they are looking fantastic, we can’t wait to finish and display them. Mrs Hill can’t wait to have the Foundation students’ start on Wednesdays soon to join in some more Art fun!

STEM

This week the Grade 1/2’s completed their collaborative artwork for Safer Internet Day 2023 which promotes safe and responsible internet use both at school and at home. They learnt lots about how to stay safe online and enjoyed watching some short clips on cyber safety. Our artwork is currently displayed at the entrance to the Cill Dara for all to admire - we think it looks pretty good!!!

SPORT

This fortnight our sporty St Paddy's tried their hand at hockey, with the Hockey Road show from Hockey Victoria coming to hang with us for the day- Hooray! We had coaches help us hone some hot, hot hockey skills through hints on how to hustle, hit, and never quit. We learnt how to dribble, pass and trap all while playing games and having a helluva time.

For those students who are hanging to continue their hockey journey, register for Hookin2Hockey at your local club to get the ball rolling.

Hookin2Hockey is the National Junior Program that gives all participants the opportunity to continue learning the basic skills of hockey, develop fundamental motor skills and make friends.

Stay Sporty, St Patricks legends.
