A message from Stage 3
Stage 3 students have certainly had a very busy start to the school year! We have participated in sporting trials and events, debating, excursions to Thalgarrah and this week we have students attending the Science and Engineering Day and the Young Leaders Excursion to Sydney. A big thank you to all the families who came for the parent-teacher-student interviews. It was great to meet you and to learn more about your child.
Students are enjoying learning in our newly formed mathematics groups. In our lessons this term, we have been learning to:
Over the remainder of the term we will be learning to:
A group of Stage 3 students were fortunate to attend a recent debating workshop at Armidale City Public School. The workshop was run by Tony Davey from the Arts Unit in Sydney and helped students to develop skills around planning for and carry out a debate.
All class have had a fabulous time on their recent excursions to Thalgarrah, with S3C heading out for their day this week. At Thalgarrah, they participated in the 'Kids v Wild' program, a day of outdoor adventure and problem solving. Students were encouraged to step out of their comfort zone and try new and challenging things. Some of the challenges included navigating through the forest using a map and a compass, catching their own food, building a shelter and cooking their lunch.
It was a challenging, tiring and totally enjoyable day!
