Deputy Principal's Message

We are already halfway through the term and are well and truly into the swing of things. There are many events planned for the coming weeks and we look forward to providing a range of opportunities for our students to engage in before the end of term.

Year 6 to 7 - enrol online

This year, the Year 6 to 7 transition and enrolment process has moved online. The Moving to high school page has now been added to all primary school websites and can be found on the Ben Venue Public School website. Links to the online Expression of Interest (EOI) and Placement Not Required (PNR) forms will be available on this page from 6 March and must be completed no later than 31 March 2023.

If you require paper forms, please see the office. Paper forms must be completed no later than 24 March 2023.

NAPLAN

NAPLAN assessments will begin on Wednesday 15 March for Year 3 and Year 5 students. The writing assessment will be completed first, then reading and language conventions before concluding with mathematics. Assessments will be carried out between 15 March and 27 March. All assessments will be conducted online, aside from the Year 3 writing task, which will be a paper test.

To find out more about NAPLAN online, please visit the National Assessment Program website, watch the understanding NAPLAN online video clip or click here to access the NAPLAN Online Parent Brochure.

Attendance matters

Regular attendance at school is essential for students to achieve quality life outcomes. Ben Venue aims to work in partnership with parents and carers to encourage and support regular attendance of our students. When your child attends school every day, learning becomes easier and they are more easily able to build and maintain friendships with other children. For more information regarding compulsory school attendance, see the compulsory school attendance brochure for parents.

Dance Party

Students have been dancing up a storm during our weekly Friday Dance Party. It is always wonderful to see students, young and old, dancing and playing together.
