“Get a bit of dirt on your hands boy, get a bit of dirt on your hands”. This rural legend sings through the hills and rolls along the red plains. It is about tenacity and grit. Courage and teamwork. Commitment and success. Today, at 5:40pm, this legend found its way onto Court 4 at the PCYC.

After an 8-week sabbatical from court, The KWS Lakers weren’t afraid to get a bit of dirt on their hands early in the game. With the point board neck and neck, a few changes and tactical reminders in the first quarter break allowed the Lakers to knuckle down and make the most of the opportunities presented. With patience, teamwork and courage, the Lakers had a stellar third quarter performance, doubling the score of their opponent for that quarter.

The goal for the week ahead is to shoot, shoot, shoot. The KWS Lakers will be in good stead to earning their stripes in the achievement of this goal as they practice 50 shots on Saturday, 50 shots on Sunday and another 10 when they are asked to do the dishwasher.

Orange Running Festival 4-5 March

Just one month to go until the 2023 Orange Running Festival!  As in previous years, we'll be adding to the competitive spirit with our Schools Challenge.  As always, the Schools Challenge allows your students to rally together and have a fun, healthy day out.  Each year, we have hundreds of participants across our school teams.

The Schools Challenge will be just like 2022's Challenges: runners will enter the Orange Running Festival 5K as individuals, and will then add themselves to your school team.  We've set up teams already for Orange area schools to make it easier for everyone.  Just head to our website www.orangerunningfestival.com.au for more details

Mr Barrett’s preparation for the orange running festival is progressing smoothly, apparently peaches are his source of energy for those long training runs. All students and staff are welcome, it would be great to see lots of Kinross Wolaroi School sports uniforms out there representing the school amongst the Orange community.
