Positive Climate for Learning Update

POSITIVE CLIMATE FOR LEARNING

Already we are at the end of Week Four Term One, and have had a very positive start to 2023. Our Year 7s are settling into secondary school well, our 11s and 12s are embracing their senior secondary years and students across the college are adjusting well to the new school year, new school values and some changes to procedures and policies.

We ask that you support the school in discussing the following with your child, and please contact the school if there is anything you would like to discuss:

  • After-school detentions:
    • Run every Monday and Thursday after school;
    • Are issued:
      • After students have been given clear opportunities to amend disruption;
      • Can be issued immediately for serious breaches of school policy, safety concerns and inappropriate device use;
    • Students must complete a reflection sheet during this time, in supporting them in making positive choices and building positive relationships;
    • It is preferred that students’ positive behavioural choices can avoid an after-school detention.
  • Uniform:
    • Please ensure your child is in full school uniform every day. Sports uniform can only be worn on days when students are participating in sports classes. All other days full uniform is required. If there are any uniform items you require please contact or visit Lowes at Westfield Plenty Valley Shopping Centre.

Thank you for assisting your child in having a positive start for 2023, and in embracing our new values – Respect, Resilience and Care.
