Northcote High Public Speaking Competition

Northcote High Public Speaking Competition

A long and perilous journey took us to the great halls of Northcote High School. Bullets of water fired against our backs, drenching us from head to toe. The only cure for our insanity was the long chant of “The Ants Go Marching”. Once we arrived at the library and the two speakers from each of the six schools took their seats, the competition began. The atmosphere was tense. Both Isla and Finn, the speakers representing Northcote Primary School spoke clearly, loudly and expressively. They used emotion to connect the audience and judges with their speech. Whilst the Year 9 Debating Team, aka the judges, came to a decision about the place getters, we got to feast upon Museli bars and juice boxes. The competition was a roaring success with each speaker giving it their best shot. Finn came home with 2nd place!! All of us at Northcote Primary are extremely proud of Isla and Finn. Congratulations and well done!
