2023 Class Placements

We will soon begin the process of forming 2023 classes.

To ensure the best possible placements are made to support each student's needs, determining classes is a lengthy and complex process. Factors that we take into consideration when making class placements may include: academic achievement, interpersonal development, learning styles and needs, friendships and the ratio of each year level within composite classes. With so many factors to consider, and preferences to weigh up, it is important to know that it is not always possible to accommodate every parent request.

Each student will be asked to nominate five friends who they work well with and would like to be in a class with next year. Each child is guaranteed at least one of these friends be in their homegroup class in 2023. Just a reminder, when classess are finalised and you see classlists, that even though other friends may not be in the same homeroom with your child, does not mean that they won't have opportunities to work with them. Due to the collaborative nature of the way teams work, team teaching, and differentiated groups, you may find your child mixing with and learning alongside a wider range of children and friends than their immediate homegroup.

If you have a request for your child NOT to be placed with a particular child, the reason for this request needs to be made in writing. These need to be sent to Shaun (Principal) by 4pm on Monday the 31st of October in order to be considered, so that we are able to have 2023 classes determined in a timely manner.

Please ensure that any requests made are in line with our Class Placements Policy (see below). Any requests must be sent to: shaun.wells@education.vic.gov.au

Please note that we do not take requests for specific teacher into consideration.

If you have submitted a request in previous years that you would again like considered, please ensure that this is submitted again.
