From the Deputy

  Mr Anthony Speranza

Dear families,

Seesaw Learning Journal App

Thank you to all of our families for connecting with the children’s journal and classroom teacher via the Seesaw app. Like this newsletter, much of our communication to families is via electronic methods, and staying connected on the Seesaw app will be important for all parents and carers.

A reminder that Seesaw can be accessed from any computer web browser (app.seesaw.me) or the mobile phone app. It is highly recommended that families leave email or push notifications (mobile phone alerts) turned on so that announcements and communications are not missed. To review how to change these settings, please see the support article here:

https://help.seesaw.me/hc/en-us/articles/206528005-How-to-change-your-Family-account-notifications

A reminder that multiple parents or carers can be connected with the same child by using the same invite, and that connected family members can only see their own child’s learning. If you require assistance connecting another family member please don’t hesitate to get in touch with the classroom teachers, Daniela Borgese as ICT Leader or myself.

Seesaw takes parent and student privacy very seriously, and for further information please see their privacy policy at https://web.seesaw.me/privacy .

Below is a helpful video that gives an overview to parents about connecting and navigating with the Seesaw app.

Family Education Program hosted by Cath McCallig

Our Puberty Education Program yesterday evening was well attended by students and families. A highly interactive session was provided by Cath McCallig, and we look forward to having her back next year.

Cath has recommended the following website for further information relating to puberty:

Attached is also a range of literature recommended by Cath that could be useful resources for families.

2023 Technology Program, 1-to-1 devices in Years 3 to Year 6

Tonight we will be hosting an information evening for parents with children enrolling into Years 3 to 6 in 2023, as we launch a 1-to-1 laptop program in those year levels. To access the webinar, please refer to the information sent this morning via Seesaw.

Orders for devices will be opening soon and are due by Tuesday 22nd November to ensure delivery and a smooth start to the program in 2023. If you have any questions regarding the program, please don’t hesitate to contact myself or Daniela Borgese as ICT Leader.

Italian Day, Wednesday 19th October

A reminder that the website is open for families to order a special treat for their children on our Italian Day, celebrated on Wednesday 19th October. Authentic gelato and margherita pizza is on offer which can be booked at https://www.trybooking.com/CCPZY

Please note that bookings must be closed on Friday 14th October and will not re-open.

On Italian Day, students are encouraged to come dressed in a creative costume related to Italy. For example, they may come as Pinocchio, Barilla Pasta, Pizza, a Roman toga, a gladiator, a gelato, a racing car driver, the blue fairy godmother in Pinocchio, a gondola, an artist, a soccer player, etc. Families are encouraged to make their costume by reusing resources, rather than making purchases.

Students can also come dressed in an item of clothing representing the Italian flag colours (green, white or red).
