EAL English as an Additional Language

The RPS EAL program provides 1-1 or small group support to children P-6 to support their English development. The program is central to the learning and development of students whom English is not their home language. Through learning EAL, students build their capacity to communicate confidently and effectively. This also strengthens their understanding of the nature of language and culture.

We have been having so much fun conducting short experiments and then writing about them. These have included; slime, self-inflating balloons, cd hovercfraft building and dancing rice. Students always enjoy the warm up which makes connections to their home language and country background.
