Inaugural Sacred Heart Kew Men's Lunch

Last Friday at Cotham Dining Kew, the inaugural Men’s Lunch was held. Both past and present Sacred Heart Kew men enjoyed a sensational afternoon together. We were blessed to have AFL Legend Kevin Sheedy give up his time to be our special guest speaker. Kevin also generously donated a number of memorabilia items for the auction. Many thanks to all those who could attend. It was wonderful to have so many people together, supporting our school community and ultimately, our children.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the following people who played a BIG hand in getting this event off the ground.Thank you in particular to Sarah Rush for all her organisation and coordination, bringing the idea into reality. Thanks also to Elisa Sapuppo for supporting Sarah and being on hand throughout the day. Thanks to Ben Spoor, Justin Grant and Dan Rush for all their efforts, as they rallied the troops and organised auction items. Thanks to Justin for being a brilliant MC and thanks to Dan for hosting the Q&A session with Kevin (it was like being a fly on the wall in a private conversation between two friends). I also thank Damian O’Sullivan who was our personal auctioneer for the day, keeping the bidding flowing.

I also wish to acknowledge and thank all the families who very generously donated auction items and prizes. The afternoon raised over $14,000 for the school. This will go towards new sports equipment, updating school playground/sport areas and other learning areas of needs at Sacred Heart Kew. A portion of the funds raised will also be donated to Beyond Blue, helping them to continue to support all Australians’ positive mental health and wellbeing.

Everyone’s already looking forward to next year's Men's Lunch. It will be a hard act to follow!

Art Show Cocktail Party

Thank you to our Year Two Parent Representatives and team of helpers, in particular, Claire Simpson, Danielle Kanatas, Sarah Rush and Vikki Bogdanovski for all their organisation and support of our Art Show Cocktail Party which will be held tonight in the MPR. I am sure that it will be a terrific occasion.

Thanks also to our resident ‘Auctioneer’ Damian O’Sullivan for being on hand tonight to run our Live Auction. All monies raised tonight will go directly to our children and their learning program and provisions. So Dig Deep! The live auction will begin at 8.30pm. Happy Bidding on our amazing year level artwork creations.
