Be Awesome Day

Hello Parents!

Tuesday, November 15th will be our annual ‘Be Awesome Day’! This year, our awesome kids will be running a ‘Show Day’ as part of our celebrations.

In order for our day to be very awesome and super fun, we will need lots of help from our wonderful parent community.

We would love donations of some of the following items. (You don’t need to donate to your child’s class necessarily, you’re welcome to donate to any of the classes listed below).

1/2 Schulz: Pre-wrapped, pre-loved or new small toys, (e.g. happy meal toys or books) to the value of $1-$2 for the lucky dip

1/2 Murphy: Zooper Doopers (not frozen)

1/2 Crawford: Bags of chocolate bars and blocks of chocolate

1/2 Todeschini: Individual wrapped lollies

1/2 Rodda/Brewer: Plastic Takeaway containers filled with items e.g.: small toys, lollies, chocolates, buttons, pasta, art and craft supplies, pencils, textas. Anything appropriate to fill a container that children can win!

What we have been up to...

Below you can see the students in grade 1/2 engaged in a maths lesson, exploring the idea of arrays to support their growing knowledge of multiplying.

Upcoming Fortnight:

Term 4 - Week 5 and 6

Literacy:  Over the next two weeks students will practice using the reading strategy 'Compare and contrast between text'. They will continue to learn about writing a persuasive text and will learn about the phonemes 'oo' as in book and 'ou' as in cloud.

Mathematics:  During Maths sessions students will continue to explore the concepts of multiplication and sharing. They will also look at 2D & 3D shapes and Perimeter and Area.

Topic:  Our topic lessons will continue to focus on the design process and the need to strive for accuracy, be clear on an objects purpose and to be creative thinkers. Students will investigate the purpose of different objects and the shapes used to construct common items.
