KINDERGARTEN NEWS
What a busy and fun filled term we have ahead in Kindergarten. Lots happening in and around the classroom as we approach the end of a busy and successful year.
Last week, we welcomed Milestones Pre-School children into our classroom for story time. We had so much fun sharing our favourite stories with them. We can’t wait to continue this partnership with Milestones throughout the term.
This term we are getting creative with music. We are learning how to clap and move to the beat of the music. We are also learning to play a range of different percussion instruments.
In Literacy and MAPPEN we are exploring fairy tales and nursery rhymes. Below are some pages out of our very own book that we created. We are creating puppets tomorrow for the gingerbread man! We are all very excited and can’t wait.
Have a great week!

LIBRARY AND TECHNOLOGY NEWS
Term 4 is going to be action packed in the Library. We have so much learning to do and lots of fun to be had along the way!
Already this term all the students have been putting their new found app ‘Jam Board’ to good use by not only using Jam Board to organise some of their thoughts and ideas but also teaching our teachers how Jam Boards can be used in the classroom! A link with more information can be found here https://edu.google.com/intl/ALL_au/jamboard/. The students all have access to Jam Board via their student portal and Google Workspace and I know they would be happy to share their learning with you!
Stage 2 and 3 students are currently working on the scripts of their own short film with the common theme being Fantasy. We have a few budding actors, directors, script writers and film producers in our midst! Stay tuned for our movie release dates!!!!
Stage1 have been busy creating Jam Boards on their favourite things, places and locations they have visited. Stage 1 will also be exploring the world of film making and putting all their creative ideas into action.
Kindergarten are our technology Super Stars, they can now confidently unlock a laptop and type in their username and password. We are now looking forward to creating our own Jam Board and having a play on Minecraft Education!!!
Have a great week,

To the parents and students of Martin’s Gully Public School
We are excited to let you know that we are taking part in National Bandanna Day this year. Held on the Friday 28th of October, Bandanna Day is the flagship fundraising and awareness campaign for Canteen.
Canteen provides free and tailored support to young people aged 12-25 who are impacted by cancer. Whether they are dealing with their own diagnosis, a close family member’s cancer or the death of a loved one, Canteen provides support such as counselling, peer support events and youth friendly resources.
Young people impacted by cancer are up to six times more likely to face mental health issues like anxiety or depression than their peers. After just six months of support from Canteen, almost two-thirds of young people report improvements in their mental health and overall wellbeing. Canteen also provides services for parents dealing with cancer in their family, because our research shows that when parents are supported through cancer, their children cope much better as well.
This Bandanna Day, we are supporting young people impacted by cancer by selling bandannas and fundraising for Canteen. Bandanas can be purchased at school on Friday 28th October, and cost $5 each. Please bring the correct amount of money.
We will also hold an out of uniform day and ask families to donate a gold coin.
Thank you for helping Martin’s Gully make a difference to the lives of young Aussies!
