Year 9-12: Electrical Dual Qualification

Register your interest

Australian Industry Group is offering a new combined dual qualification to be piloted for the electrical sector.  This program will combine the A Grade electrician Cert III qualification and the Bachelor of Electrical Engineering degree delivered over a reduced period compared to completing them separately.

This exciting new opportunity was conceived to keep pace with the advancing technology of control/ monitoring systems, automation, and robotic manufacturing systems.  It will combine STEM knowledge and essential trade skills to produce individuals with practical skills, the required electrical licence, and advanced systems knowledge through the engineering degree. This is a true earn while you learn employment and education model.

The program is focused on applicants with year 12 maths methods and the desire to undertake the applied learning of a trade.  For potential applicants without sufficient maths background, there is an optional gap subject run by the university.  Employers will commence recruiting in the fourth quarter of 2022 and the first cohort is scheduled to commence in February 2023.

Examples of companies that have expressed interest in this qualification include but are not limited to: Bosch, Reynolds Automation, Proseal, Pro built Control, CST Automation, Downer, LuiquidPak, Process Partners, NAC, BRE Electrical, GPS Electrical, Gordyn & Palmer, Coca Cola Amital, ARA Electrical, Sage Automation, Bromar, Erie Technologies, and IRIS Integration. We expect there to be various companies within the defence industry contractors as well.
