FINAL SPORTS REPORT

How good was it to have an uninterrupted year of sport!!

Highlights included our continued domination in the pool, on both the track and field event stages and on the cross country trails in Portland - winning the GD Swimming, GD Athletics and GD Cross Country aggregate shields back to back! This is the third time in the school’s history this TRIPLE CROWN has been achieved. Congratulations to the students involved in making College history!

The College Cricket Club’s A grade premiership in the HDCA was a fantastic achievement and so rewarding for many at the club which included two students, Henry Bensch and Jack Austin, as well as many Old Collegians.

There were impressive team performances, including premierships in basketball and hockey, and our participant numbers in all our sports on offer at the school have remained strong with racquet sports continuing to go from strength to strength.

We are super proud of individual students who continue to have success at state and national level competitions.

I encourage all the students in 2023 to continue to commit and train hard in their sporting pursuits and choose to represent the school in sporting opportunities as much as possible. Being part of teams and representing the school creates memories you will keep forever.

As I finish my role as Director of Sport at the school after 16 years, I would like to sincerely thank everyone in the College community that have contributed to the sports program in any way as without you all it cannot be as large and successful as it has become. I have thoroughly enjoyed the challenges over the years and most importantly seeing the students having chances to compete for the school and enjoy their sport.
