Year 5

Welcome back to Term 2 – what an amazing start to the term we have had in Year 5. Take a look at what we have started learning about this term!

Reading:

We have started the term analysing persuasive texts – we have looked at newspaper articles and misleading advertisements. Students have enjoyed identifying persuasive devices such as facts, humour, exaggeration and emotive language. Once this unit is complete, students will move into learning about word parts – specifically prefixes, suffixes and base words. They will then apply this knowledge to learn about word origins and how words have changed over time.
