SWPBS

What a wonderful return back into term two. Last week students were introduced to new SWPBS rewards.  The feedback that has been received has been positive with student's faces lighting up and working hard to receive tokens for them.  Over this term, all of the staff will be participating in supporting our SWPBS program by reviewing our school Matrix of behaviours and creating new expectations.  Why are we reviewing the matrix? Because of the new build, we now have more learning spaces, areas to play and new play equipment. To help promote positive behaviours in our school, the matrix needs to reflect all of the classroom and non-classroom environments.  If you would like to discuss the SWPBS program at our school, please contact Mr Russell.

Professional development

During the term, we have had three members of staff participate in online workshops to further promote SWPBS in the classroom.  Classroom Systems is a workshop that helps teachers focus on classroom procedures and routines that align with our school expectations.  Over the year, staff and students will have an opportunity to be a part of building their own classroom Matrix.  This will support the students in meeting the expectations that they have on themselves.

Silver Award

Because of the wonderful work the school has been doing with SWPBS, we have been provided with the opportunity to apply for our silver recognition in the SWPBS program (this is a wonderful recognition for our school).  I feel confident that the staff and students at Clyde are up to the challenge to show the community and the Department of Education that we are the school for Respect, Responsibility and Resilience.
