Teaching and Learning Wrap Up

Celebrating Staff Achievement

As with our students, we feel it is important to also acknowledge the hard work of our teachers across our first full year on site since 2019. To wrap up our Professional Learning Community work, our Leadership team nominated various teachers in their teams for awards who have demonstrated the College values across 2022. Recognising achievement is an excellent way to motivate people and build connectedness across the College. Well done to all of our award winners for this year!

Selected staff also presented some of their success on topics ranging from effective home group practices, supporting students in literacy and numeracy and building school pride. It is always fantastic to be able to shine a light on the work people are doing in their roles day-to-day and we look forward to more of our teaches having the opportunity in 2023.

2023 Induction sessions

Over the past few weeks we have had the privilege of running many Induction sessions to prepare our teachers and Leaders for 2023.

On November 29th we welcomed over 20 of our newly recruited teachers to the College for the day. They learned about how we support students, collaborate on curriculum documentation and analyse data to track student growth. Teachers heard from a range of Leaders and completed introductory activities that helped them get to know one another as well as finding out more about the role of the classroom teacher here at ECSC. We look forward to welcoming all of our new staff in Term 1, 2023.

In 2023 we are also welcoming many new teachers into our Curriculum Leadership team for the first time, as well as others who are moving up in their roles for next year. Last week we held 2 internal Induction sessions to help support these emerging Leaders. They worked together in teams to unpack what builds and sustains culture, the Professional Learning Community structure and the core work of their roles in preparation for their work in the Curriculum space next year. As a new College, it is always exciting to be able to offer many Leadership opportunities for those who are interested in that career pathway.
