Principal's Report

Dear Families,

 

How quickly Christmas is approaching!! Staff have been focused on putting the final touches to student’s reports, these will go home on Monday 19th of December.

 

ASPIRATIONS DAY

Our Grade 5 students attended the Aspirations Day at the GSSC on Tuesday. They had the opportunity to participate in activities which broadened their knowledge around career possibilities. Time was spent in the science lab, the enterprise building, and the home economics room. 

 

ORIENTATION DAY

Tuesday 13th December is Orientation Day. All students from Foundation to Grade 5 will spend from 9am till 12.20 in their new classroom for 2023. At the beginning of the day, they are to line up outside their classroom for 2023. Students will be informed of their class on Monday.

School Captain Speeches will commence at 1pm in the Central Learning Space followed by the voting process. At 2.15pm students will join House Meetings to elect their House Captains for 2023. Leadership positions will be announced at Final Assembly on Tuesday 20th December. 

Due to our new timetable some adjustments have been made to our to Kinder Orientation Day. 

Due to our new timetable we have to change the timing for the Parent Information Session as well as the finishing time for the day.

  • Kinder students Miss Larcombe in the Adventure Playground at 9am. 
  • A packed lunch and water bottle is required.
  •  Please ensure students have a hat for our recess and lunch breaks. 
  • The Orientation for the Kinder students is the same as the rest of the school  9am-1pm

KINDER PARENT INFORMATION SESSION 

  • Tuesday the 13th of December
  • TPS Multipurpose Room (first room opposite the Adventure Playground)
  • 12:30-1:00pm
  • Students will be supervised in the Adventure Playground until the conclusion of the information session at 1pm. 
  • Students can be collected at 1pm from the Adventure Playground at the conclusion of the meeting.

NAPLAN RESULTS

Last week we learnt that Toolamba PS was ranked 13th in Regional Victoria for their five-year trend data in NAPLAN. This is certainly something that the school community should be very proud of. 

PHILLIP ISLAND CAMP -14TH-16TH December

Next week Grade 3-6 students have the wonderful opportunity to attend an additional camp for the year. Buses will depart at 9:00am on Wednesday morning and return at 4pm on Friday.

I am certainly very appreciative of those teachers who have volunteered to go on camp to enable this camp to take place.

 

F-2 ECHUCA EXCURSION

Students will be travelling to Echuca on Thursday. I’m sure they will have a wonderful day. 

 

LAST DAY SCHOOL

Our last day of school for the year is Tuesday 20th of December. Class parties and KKs will be held on this day. Due to changes to the bus times assembly will conclude at 1.15pm and students will be dismissed. Final assembly will commence at 12pm.
