Assistant Principal's Report

Foundation 2021 Orientation

This year due to COVID restrictions, we needed to run our Foundation Orientation program differently. Before future students were allowed onsite, we created videos showing them what our school looks like and introducing them to our teachers. This was a fantastic way for families to become familiar with the faces and spaces at FPS. Then restrictions were modified and we were so excited to be able to invite them onsite – one small group at a time!

Our incoming Foundation students have been so wonderful at settling in during their orientation session and have had lots of fun playing with each other at their new school. Some of the orientation activities children have participated in are: painting with water colours, creating pictures on peg boards, building with Lego, setting up train tracks, role-playing with dress ups, reading books, and exploring numbers while playing with calculators.

We are so excited to welcome our new Foundation students and know they are going to have a great time here next year!

Parent Teacher Sessions

This year we will be running Parent/Teacher Sessions across the week of 7th December, during school hours.

If you have already been contacted by your child’s teacher this term it is not necessary for you to book another meeting, unless you feel there is a need. Parents who do have a need for this virtual Parent/Teacher session are to book their interview time in Compass, then a calendar appointment (with links to join the meeting) will be emailed. Information around booking interview times have been posted to your Compass news feed.
