Confirmation 2021

We will be celebrating the Sacrament of Confirmation on Sunday February 28th at 3:00pm at Sacred Heart Church. Due to Covid19, Catholic students in Year 5/6 2021 and Year 6 2020 will be receiving the Sacrament this year.  We will then return to a two year cycle which will mean students in Years 3/4 will make their Confirmation in 2023.

Bishop Terry will be officiating at the mass and he will be visiting our students on Monday 8th February at 10:00am. Due to Covid19 I will need a list of people attending and a contact phone number per household. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask.

 

Opening School Year Masswill be held on Sunday 14th March at 10:30am where our school leaders will receive their badges.

 

Year 5/6 Camp

Our Year 5/6 students will be attending camp on Monday 22nd February and return on Wednesday 24th February. Students will be going to Coastal Forest Lodge in Anglesea. A detailed letter and forms will be sent home.

 

School Uniform

There have been a number of students wearing runners everyday. School shoes are an important part of our school uniform. Last year due to Covid19  some students wore runners in term 4 however now that we are back full time all students are required to wear black school shoes. I understand that runners are comfortable especially when playing in the school yard however school shoes provide the appropriate support for growing feet and also look great when we are representing our school.  Runners are only to be worn on days when students have sport.

 

Working With Children Check

If you wish to volunteer at school you will need to have a current WWWC check. If you already have one please check that it is still valid.  You can apply online : https://www.workingwithchildren.vic.gov.au/individuals/applicants/how-to-apply

We will be starting to have volunteers in the classrooms when it is Covid safe.

Please bring your updated or new card to school so we can photocopy it for our records.

 

Parent/Teacher Exchange

We will be having parent/teacher exchange meetings on Thursday 18th February from 1:30pm - 8:00pm. Notes will be sent home for you to book a time as well as a note about information to be discussed. Students will be dismissed at 1:00pm on Tuesday 18th February.

 

Anaphylaxis and Asthma Management

A reminder to all students who have anaphylaxis and asthma management plans that they need to be updated each year. Medication that has expired will also need updating.  A special note regarding medical management will be sent home next week to all new families at our school this year.
