Principal News

Dear Sacred Heart Community

As I write this newsletter, it is hard to believe that we are almost at the conclusion of week two. However as I walk through the corridors, visit classrooms and complete yard duty, I am able to witness our students readily engaged in their learning, socialising with their peers and making good responsible, independent decisions. In what has been a relatively short time, and after a tumultuous year in 2020 when routines were upset for our students, your children, a keenness to get back to what they missed so much last year has been displayed throughout the school. As are all terms in a school, this term has many events upcoming. I ask that you read the "Dates to Remember" part of the newsletter each week. In the "Deputy Principal/Religious Education" section of this newsletter, Jenny presents some important information about:

Parent/Teacher Exchanges

Year Five/Six Camp

Confirmation and the Opening of the School Year Mass

COVID 19 PROTOCOLS

With our state and wider country doing everything in its power to keep the COVID 19 virus from reentering our community it's important as a good community partner and to keep each of us safe that we ensure please that:

Entry into the school building is kept to essential business and that a face mask be worn

When in the school grounds, remember to keep the correct recommended distance from other parents and guardians when conversing.

New Students

Apart from our 21 magnificent new Year Prep students, we have five new students who have joined our school this year. I would like to welcome brother and sister Elwin (Year 3) and Elaine (Year 5), Yianna (Year 3 who is the sister of Georgia in Year Prep), Ahan (Year 5) and Ayisha (Year 5). I know our students will work hard to make our new students feel part of our school community very quickly. I would also like to welcome the families of these students as they join our Sacred Heart School community.

A big thank you to Jodi and the Parents and Friends Committee, who are giving all our students a free icy pole tomorrow, to celebrate the start of the school year. Icy poles will be sold each Friday until the end of the term. The Icy poles sell for $1.00.

Sacred Heart School Facebook Page

Another great way to keep up with what is happening in our school, is through the school Facebook page. If you currently have Facebook I am sure you will find our page informative.

Returning Students

It is always great to see some of our former students as they enter their secondary education. This week we were visited by four of last years Year Six class

Please stay safe

Yours Sincerely
