Careers/Senior Pathways

Career News

A warm welcome is extended to the Killester Community for the 2021 academic year. We have our fingers and toes crossed that 2021 will be positive for opportunities for students to attend a range of events in person. Many tertiary institutes have moved back to face to face learning, which is fantastic for the students and several are moving forward with preparations for community events including industry information sessions and open days. Please ensure your daughter regularly reads the Compass Careers News which is emailed to the Year 10, 11 and 12 students every week. This newsletter is a fabulous source of information and is a supplementary addition of information to the new Killester Careers Website. Parents/guardians and students are invited to take the opportunity to investigate the website and are able to sign up for a news feed which will showcase rolling information regarding pathways, employment opportunities and tertiary open days, events and expos. See the 'For Parents' and 'For Students' tabs for more information. https://killestercareers.com.au/

Thank you to the Year 10 students who have visited or made contact with me regarding the Year 10 Work Experience Program. Whilst some students have already found a placement, a friendly reminder for students requiring one to continue to actively seek a Work Experience placement. Dates for the 2021 program are the week of Monday August 30 to Friday September 3. Placements must be confirmed by Week 9, Term 2 with ALL paperwork due by Friday June 18. Students requiring assistance or those who have questions are welcome to come and visit me in the Student Services office near Brigid's Well.

Wishing everyone a fruitful week.

Warm regards
