2021 Staff

Welcome to our new staff for 2021

In this edition of il giornale we would like to introduce you to School of Wonder Learning Mentor Jasmin Buha, School of Innovation Learning Mentor Chelsea Nicholson, Library Technician Julie Villani and Enrolments and Student Services Officer Tara Jeffery.

Jasmin Buha

My name is Jasmin and I am from Numurkah. I completed university at La Trobe in Shepparton and was a part of the group of first Shepparton students to graduate a Bachelor of Early Childhood and Primary Education. This is my first year of teaching and I am feeling very lucky to have this year at St Anne’s College.

My interests outside of the college are spending time with family. I am an only child so spending time with my family is very important to me. I also enjoy going to the football in Melbourne to watch my team Hawthorn play. I’m hoping to be able to get down to a few more games this year!

I am enjoying all aspects of the college; I find it amazing to see what the children are coming up with each and every day. I love being able to follow the interests of the child and explore their wonderings! It’s such a great and unique place to be and I’m feeling very lucky with all the amazing support around me.

Chelsea Nicholson

Hello to our wonderful St Anne's College community. My name is Chelsea Nicholson. I come to St Anne's with 10 years of teaching experience at Greater Shepparton Secondary College and Wanganui Park Secondary College before that. I have traditionally taught my passion, Science, but over the years dabbled in many other subjects and at all year levels. In a time before teaching, I worked in the science field with the Department of Primary Industries, and worked in community engagement for a while as well. I have enjoyed my teaching experiences so far and embark on the St Anne's stage of my career with an enthusiasm to try some new theories of teaching and am enjoying the smaller group settings at the college.

For around 35 years I spent my weekends playing netball, but I have recently taken up distance running instead, which is providing me with a new challenge. As part of my involvement in netball over the years I have been a development-level netball coach, coaching a range of levels from U15 and U17 through to A-grade Goulburn Valley League, and I am a B-badged umpire as well. I am currently involved in Parkrun Shepparton, as one of the run directors, and participate in some form or other every Saturday morning. I absolutely love that Parkrun is as much a social event as it is a running event (in fact you don’t have to run it, you can walk!). I am also quite involved in the Shepparton Runners Club, which is something I really enjoy. I also enjoy photography and art, although I don’t seem to find the time to get too much into my art these days.

It has been a pleasure getting to know all the wonderful people connected to this community. While I know I still have a lot of people to meet, so far this has been a very exciting journey.

Julie Villani

Hi I’m Julie Villani. I am the youngest of four children and grew up in Waaia on my parents' dairy farm, attending St Joseph’s Primary School in Numurkah and then Numurkah Secondary College. I am a qualified hairdresser and have owned my own hairdressing salon. My husband David is the Business Manager at St Anne’s College and together we have two beautiful daughters, Chiara, Year 9 and Sienna, Year 7.

This year I am the Library Technician at St Anne's, working on Mondays and Tuesdays and for the past four years I volunteered at St Brendan’s Primary School as the Scholastic Book Club Coordinator, which has led me to this position.

Having been brought up with an Italian background, family time is valued and very important to me. It has also allowed my family to travel and visit family and friends overseas. In my spare time I enjoy taking on new craft projects, cooking, sewing and gardening. I am grateful to be a part of the St Anne’s community. It brings me much joy to journey alongside such vibrant, caring and passionate people.

Tara Jeffery

Hi everyone! My name is Tara and I am very excited to be a part of the St Anne’s College team, working in the role of Enrolments and Student Services. This college has such a lovely feel about it and I feel very privileged to be a part of its growth and development over the coming years.

I am an Early Childhood Educator and had the pleasure of spending the last ten and a half years at Kialla Children’s Centre, job sharing the Coordinator's role there, and I love that I still get to see a few of my kinder friends at St Anne’s.

In my spare time I enjoy hanging out with friends and family and it nearly always involves food! I also enjoy lots of walks and going to the footy, with my father convincing me as a child to support the Dees. I watch every year hoping for a premiership. My husband Warren and I have three children -  two at secondary school and one in her gap year. Our favourite place to holiday is Merimbula and we have been visiting the area every year for nearly 20 years, with the boys catching the fish and us girls usually walking the beaches and the shops!

Thanks everyone for making me feel so welcome and I look forward to seeing you around the college!
