From the Principal

Benvenuto - Welcome

It has been another jam-packed fortnight of activity for the St Anne’s College community. On Wednesday last week we were lucky enough to be able to reschedule our postponed Twilight Swimming Carnival at Aquamoves. There was great attendance and participation rates from our students given the short turnaround time to a new date. Watching the children enjoy each other’s company and challenge each other in competition brought us much joy. Some of our School of Innovation students then went on to compete in the district swimming carnival with great success. We were also able to reschedule our Foundation and Year 9 information nights to occur on Wednesday, March 3. We had a great number of families attend the evening to learn more about the learning programs. For the Year 9 families, further information was shared about the development of senior secondary pathways. These families were able to hear about the pathways of VCAL, VCE and VET to be offered at St Anne’s College in the coming years. All very exciting times ahead.

Today we had a professional learning day with all staff. The themes of the day were around identity, inclusivity and diversity. It was a fantastic opportunity for staff to reflect on the idea of each person made in the image and likeness of God and the dignity of the human person. Across the day we focused on Catholic perspectives, behaviour and expectations and Aboriginal perspectives. As we continue to enhance our Catholic Identity, we are working towards a deeper understanding of the markers across the college which represent our Catholic story. I would challenge you next time you are on site to see how many markers you can see which represent our Catholic Identity!
