Construction update

Whilst we've only just finished and started enjoying the Stage 2A space, we were again pleased to welcome our architect, Dr Ken Woodman and landscape architect Bruce Grillmeier to our college on Thursday, February 25, to work with our School of Innovation students, Arts, Science and School of Wonder teams to further plan out our next development, Stage 2B. Stage 2B will be an extension slightly bigger and to the west of the college, adjoining Stage 2A, along with a further extension on the south-eastern corner of the building representing about a third of the size of the original Stage 1 building. So, it's a big extension on both sides of the college building that we will be managing accordingly whilst maintaining our school operation during the build. 

There were some truly innovative ideas flowing around the table last Thursday as we explored opportunities to develop these spaces as engaging, dynamic, purposeful and flexible spaces in the same way that our college facilities have been designed and developed to date. In our afternoon session we were grateful for the generous time and feedback that Jennifer Nind and Kim Daldy as parent representatives of our College Advisory Council were able to share on behalf of our whole college community with our development team. The sharing was in a way that reflected predominately on our achievements to date in the landscaping space; they looked at what was working, what additional opportunities existed and some of the overarching themes and college values and pedagogy and the alignment to our future master plan landscaping ideas.

There is no rest for our development and consultancy teams as they now move swiftly into finalising the design and documentation phase with a view of being out to construction tender by mid-year and immediate start to construction once the tender has been awarded. We will share more information, plans and drawings as they are developed to take you along our next construction journey of St Anne's College!
