Future Lockdown arrangements
Thank you to the school community for their acceptance and support for earlier this week when we went into a snap lockdown. Let's hope we do not have to do that again!!
But looking ahead – if we need to have another snap lockdown it will be an expectation that the continuity of student education be maintained and that we immediately step into remote home learning that includes digital online connection with all students.
I have asked all staff to spend some time in the week to prepare their students and their parents for digital connection – Webex for everyone, SeeSaw for F-2, Google Classroom for 3-6. Please be prepared for some communications from teachers about this.
Respectful Relationships
Jells Park PS is a practicing "Respectful Relationships" school and we model the expectations underpinned by respect and equality for all.
I would respectfully ask parents to also model "Respectful Relationships' at all times while in and around the school, particularly in 2 areas:
- In the 2min parking zones around school - this is specifically for drop off and pick up of students. You cannot leave your car or sit and wait in these areas. The council have been active recently and will fine people doing the wrong thing.
- Online - particularly Facebook and WeChat. It is fantastic that parents communicate and share, but I urge parents to use these platforms for their intended purpose. If you have an issue or complaint, please bring it directly to me.
Assembly
Unfortunately we are still unable to have parents attend Monday assemblies. While the restrictions are in place we will live stream on Facebook so that parents can see the class presentations and any awards given. Next Monday I will be presenting the SRC badges to students from 3-6 who have been elected to the role.
School Attendance
Can I remind parents that it is our expectation that ALL students be at school ready to enter the classrooms at 9.00am to commence learning. I know the traffic can be an issue but please make every effort to ensure that your child is at school on time. It is disruptive to the teacher and a disadvantage for the students when people arrive late.
New Crossing Supervisor
I am please to announce that we have a new permanent Crossing Supervisor - IVAN. I have invited Ivan to assembly next Monday to introduce to the students. Please say hello to Ivan as you cross the road.
School Fees
A reminder to parents that Parent Contributions for the 2021 Essential Learning Items are due and we ask that they be paid. Payments for these can be made via the Qkr app. If you have any concerns with making these payments please contact Jo-Anne Hoare in the office.

2022 Foundation Enrolments
Are you and your children happy with the educational experience we provide at JPPS?
Do you have neighbours, friends or family with children in 4 year old kinder?
If the answer is yes then please help us spread the word about our great school and let people know we are now open for 2022 enrolments in Foundation and are running tours throughout March for prospective families. Tours are offered to everyone, even if they are living outside our school zone and bookings can be made via the Trybooking link on our website.
If you are a current family with a preschool child who will be attending JPPS in Foundation in 2022 please come into the office anytime and request an enrolment pack.
