Year 10 Calculator requirements

Year 10 Calculator requirements

At years 10, 11, and 12, students require a more advanced calculator, capable of performing complex maths equations, graphing and data functions.

Students completing any level of Maths at years 10 and 11 require the CAS calculator, and if they choose to continue Maths at year 12, it will also be required then.

Whilst the initial cost of the calculator seems quite high in comparison to the calculator students use in junior levels, it is a necessary, and therefore COMPULSORY device for students at year 10.

The calculator can be purchased from office suppliers for approx. $220-$230. Families can pass them down to younger siblings, and you can also consider selling them once your child no longer needs it.

If you have not yet purchased this calculator for your child, please plan to do so as soon as possible. If you have any concerns, please contact your child’s Maths teacher via email, or the Mathematics Learning Specialist – Erin Simpson.
