Intermediate and Senior Tennis

After 4 training sessions, we took the intermediate girls and intermediate/senior boys to Taylors Lakes tennis club for their annual round robin tournament against schools around the region.

The intermediate girls were the most impressive of the day. We had 6 girls who had never played tennis before join us. Catherine Le, Anh Tran, Jisselle Quiaot, Cassie Tran, Dina Gedjeah and Jacinta Vu. They played against Gilson College and Victoria University Secondary. We beat Victoria University comprehensively, however to make it through to the next round we had to beat Gilson. The girls played really well and won 3 matches, loss 3 matches against Gilson. So we had to count the amount of games which added up to 19 Games and the other team also had 19 games. It was all squared, so we had to write it down as a draw. Which meant the girls loss on games for the day. What a valiant effort and so unlucky to lose in these circumstances. 

The intermediate boys and senior boys were pretty rusty at the beginning of the day. They played against Keilor down college, Copperfield, VU and Gilson College. The boys played really well on the day, however came up against some tough opposition. Everyone won at least one match on the day and beat one school but that wasn't enough to get us through to the next round. Well done to Oliver Nesvadba, Andy Doan, Jacky Phung, Edward Ta, Ace Vo, An Tran, Tommy Tang, Hai Nguyen and Quy Nguyen.
