Level 3/4

Level 3 & 4 News

What a whirlwind fortnight it has been in Level 3 & 4! We have been so incredibly proud of our students and the great resilience they have shown throughout the snap lockdown and coming back to onsite learning. We can’t thank our amazing families enough for their support and understanding during this time.

Since returning to school, students have continued settling into their daily routines and setting up Reader’s and Writer’s workshops in their classes. Level 3 have been learning more about the 5 Finger Test and choosing Just Right Books when reading and borrowing from the library. In mathematics, we have been learning about place value and building on our knowledge of odd and even numbers. Flora and Fauna is back in full swing, and you can check out more in this week’s update.

Level 4 students have focused on developing accuracy when reading aloud through a number of strategies, including flipping sounds. We have begun a unit on persuasive writing, and also been learning more about addition and subtraction mental strategies in maths. For RRRR, students created impressive Everyday Superheroes, reflecting on people that have had an impact on their lives and the lives of others too!

Coming up soon, the Celebration Presentations will be a wonderful opportunity for students to share their hard work and research for our inquiry unit this term. We look forward to seeing these towards the end of the term!

Just a quick reminder from the teachers that hats are required throughout Term 1. We can’t wait to share the excitement of the coming weeks with you soon!
