Last week, we were lucky enough to go on a guided walk through Bushrangers Bay in Cape Schanck with Lionel and Sean from Living Culture.

We met amongst beautiful coastal banksia at Bushrangers Bay Picnic Area and begin the walk to the sandy shores of Bushrangers Bay. The hidden bay is surrounded by basalt cliffs and headlands pounded by the rough surf of Bass Strait.  Lionel and Sean, after freaking everyone out about the types of snakes that Australia has, showed us about bush-tucker and medicines, including migraine remedies and cute little white apple tasting berries, and native raspberries.  They were generous in sharing their knowledge of Indigenous culture and this ancient landscape.

We stopped for a snack (that we didn't eat off the trees) once we got down to the beach, before we paused for a Yidaki led meditation whilst taking in the gorgeous views.

This area had much cultural heritage to share and we learned about how this land provided for the Bunurong and Boon Wurrung people.
