Out And About

After School Lifesaving program

It has been a whirlwind start to the year for the Advance Lifesavers with 40 and 49 students attending the first two sessions at Frankston Beach.  The activities have included a swim test, tube rescues, board paddling technique, CPR and Lifesaving competition.

The older students have started brilliantly leading by example for the influx of Years 7 and 8 students.  It is making for the start of an exciting year packed full of different Community Building/ Lifesaving activities.  Thanks to the help of Joshua Smith driving the second bus, Mr Adam Martin leading First Aid, Jai Block for his organisation and Dylan Garrett for staying involved in the program to make this possible.  Snorkelling at Pelican Point is the next stop for Week 6!

If any students are interested in joining, please come to the Lifesaving/Outdoor Education Sports window and get a form!

Swimming Carnival

On Monday 8 February, the students of the LEAD Class organised a barbecue for the swimming carnival to support and raise money for the local charity “Dogs for kids with disabilities (DKD)”.

Dogs with disability is a local charity that runs in Frankston.  They help kids with disability by training dogs that aid the kids in difficult situations.  It was great to have a visit from Quentin and Steph from DKD as they explained how their charity works and the amazing things they do for kids in our community.  As they are a small charity any donations are greatly appreciated by them.  A big thank you to all the students and teachers that purchased sausages. It helped the charity a lot as we raised a total of $330.

Also, a big thank you to Mr Chris Sutcliff, Ms Alarna Summers and Mrs Sarah Bahramis who came down to help us.  It was a great day as it was very successful for the charity and it was awesome to see so many kids participating in the swimming activities too.
