VET(Vocational Education and Training)

VET

Vocational Education and Training delivered to secondary students (VETdss) allows secondary students to gain skills in a specific industry while undertaking the VCE.  Programs are typically completed over two years and provide students with a qualification or partial completion of a nationally recognised certificate.  In most cases, VET acts like any other VCE subject when being credited toward the VCE or ATAR calculation (see the VET handbook for finer details). Students typically travel to neighbouring schools each week to undertake these studies.

Here you will find a range of resources to inform you about Vocational Education and Training (VET) and the courses available to students at Viewbank College.

If you would like to apply for a VET course please complete the 2021 VET Student Application Form and submit it before Thursday 20th August. To complete the application form students will require a USI (Unique Student Identifier) number. Information on how to create a USI can be found here.

After applying for VET, students are required to attend a compulsory Enrolment/Information Evening with a parent/guardian at the host school when advised in Term 4. Students may be asked to complete additional enrolment forms by the host school. Students will be required to pay the materials fee associated with the VET course to Viewbank College before the course commencement date in early February. The amount of the fee will vary depending on the course and the materials required.

Existing VET students continuing onto second year in 2021 are also required to complete and the 2021 VET Student Application Form but do not need to attend the Enrolment/Information evening in Term 4.
