Discovery Centre

Curriculum

Week 4 brought us another exciting week of Online Learning in the Discovery Centre. Thank you to parents, carers and older siblings for your continued partnership and support for the Foundation students learning from home. We have been so impressed at their confidence in using Google Meet and recording their voice to explain their learning on Seesaw. In week 4, we continued our small group reading sessions and enjoyed discussing the text as a group.

Students built on their knowledge of data and graphs by collecting data from their peers in our Google Meet check-in. We worked hard to discover each classroom's favourite book! The Foundation Teachers were so impressed to see how the students constructed their graphs and interpreted the data. This supported them to answer questions about their graphs.

This week we will be shifting our focus to Maths during small group sessions (weekly at 11:40). Please ensure you have checked your child's day on their class timetable. Students will continue to work on their handwriting by using the dotted thirds writing book to size their letters. We will be working on an imaginative writing piece and continuing to use the codes and our Magic 100 words to support our writing.
