Classroom News

Room 1

Students in Room 1 have been experiencing different learning environments since Term 2. Students demonstrated resilience in adapting to remote and onsite learning. They have developed increased awareness practicing to wash their hands when required with minimal support and some students are reflecting having germ free clean hands after washing hands.

Students enjoy engaging in classroom activities with peers and they are practicing excellent waiting, turn taking and sharing skills. They are responding to visual support to enhance their learning at varying levels. In addition to the classroom program, Room 1 students enjoy participating in Specialist ARTS, Health & PE and STEAM including Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden program. They continue to explore and engage in playground plays with the Prep peers.

Room 10

While it’s been a quiet start to Term 3, student’s in Room 10 have settled back in well. We have been enjoying working on our Math's and English skills as well as starting two new subjects – ‘Art’ and ‘Personal and Social Skills’. We are looking forward to having everyone back in our new classroom!’

Room 19

Room 19 students have been busy learning at school and at home during Term 2. The Living Skills unit is always a hive of activity and twice each week we run the JSA Laundry Program, looking after the laundry needs of all the classrooms in our school community. Our Term 1 & 2 focus on developing skills connected with “Looking After Ourselves and Others” meant that we were well on the way to being role models in safe hygiene practices when COVID-19 became a concern. We are also always developing our communication skills and making sure our voices are heard in the classroom, SRC Meetings, playground, and beyond.
