From the Principal

HOLIDAYS are HERE! Time to REST and RELAX!!

Congratulations to all our children, teachers and parents!! You have completed the first entire term of Remote Learning!! We are really proud of the effort everyone has made to make learning continue despite all the obstacles faced. It was great to see many of our school values embraced in the process...

Responsibility- to attend Google Meets.

Perseverance - to listen attentively to videos and to keep working on skills that were tricky at first.

Respect - to wait for a turn to speak online to share ideas and to listen to the ideas of others.

Belonging-  to join Morning Gathering to start the day with prayer, participate in Fun Fridays and catch up with home Groups online.

Excellence - to do our best work. To share great ideas on jamboards.

Commitment - to work on our learning goals and show growth and improvement.

Enthusiasm - to join in opportunities like master chef and footy fun and share videos.

Happiness - to turn up to learning times with a smile and join in activities like the virtual disco.

Wisdom- to be a creative and critical thinker making meaningful learning connections and demonstrating an understanding of concepts.

Integrity- to complete tasks even if adults were not beside us.

Care and Compassion - to look after belongings and empathise, responding to the needs of others.

Love - to be positive and curious learner, motivated to learn and share skills and talents. To appreciate the efforts of teachers and parents. To be excited to return to school.

Despite our isolation we have connected and have improved. Now with COVID numbers dropping we are so excited to return to face to face learning at school next term. However first we want everyone to close books and shut down the devices. It is HOLIDAYS and we all need a rest. We want everyone to enjoy the spring weather and even if you cannot go away on holidays we want you to have a break at home. Go for a walk, ride a bike, work on a new talent and rest.

Term 4 starts on the 5th October and we will all be remote learning for another week.

On the 12 October our juniors return to school. The date for the return of the seniors has still not been announced but with numbers falling we pray it will not take too long.

We have some special event organised to welcome children back and for children to look forward to as they transition back into full time at school after this long break. We have a specialist morning organised and BOOK WEEK has been held off till the 19 October. A virtual incursion and maybe one for real are also possibilities. Please check the school calendar for events planned. There are some that are marked TBA as we wait for further restrictions to be lifted or they will need adjustments to continue. This is the year we all need to be agile and able to modify and change to navigate the obstacles that we may face. We will do everything possible to make events planned, occur before the year ends.

Safety First

Our safety plan will continue as it did in Term 2 when we return to school in Term 4.

  • Children need to bring a water bottle as water bubblers will not be accessible. temperature will be checked on arrival.
  • All adults must wear a face mask unless they have a medical exemption.
  • Hot spots will be disinfected at regular times.
  • Hands will be sanitised or washed after activities and before eating.
  • Parent volunteers, must not enter the Buildings and Learning Spaces at this time.

As we have several entry and exit points a staggered drop off and pick up will not occur in Term 4. School will end at 3:20 for all students.

To support contact tracing, schools must keep a record of all staff, students and visitors who attend on-site for more than 15 minutes. Schools must record the name, contact details, date, and time of attendance at school, as well as the areas of the school that the person attended.

Further details about our safety plan will be available once the plan out of restrictions are clearer.
