Student of the Week Awards Presented 20/5/22

Heath E. - 00L

This award goes to Heath for showing the HEART value of Excellence in the classroom. Heath has been independently putting his hand up to share lots of ideas for our class letter chart this week including ‘h for hen’ and ‘a for apple’. You are an absolute star Heath!

Beaux W. - 1/2D

Congratulations to Beaux for showing the HEART value of Excellence this week. Beaux put on his writing hat to carefully plan and draft a fable titled ‘The Dog and the Cat’. He made sure to include every element of a fable into his piece, including the characters, setting, problem, and moral of the story. Beaux, your writing will take you to wonderful places – keep it up! 

Eddie W.  - 1/2G

This award goes to Eddie for producing a wonderful beginning to his Fable. He has included all the elements that are needed in the beginning of a fable, as well as a creative story line. I am very excited to see how your fable turns out. Keep up the good work Eddie.

Noah T. - 1/2K

This award goes to Noah for the excellence and persistence he is displaying during our class production rehearsals. Noah not only knows all the moves but he does it all with a massive smile on his face! His joy is very evident through the bopping and grooving every time we practise. Noah, you are a star! We can’t wait to see you shining bright on stage on production night.

Jonas S. - 3/4B

This award goes to Jonas for how well he has settled in to his new school. He is already a valued member of 3/4B and is starting to develop some lovely friendships. Jonas put a smile on all of our faces during his Reader’s Theatre performance of ‘The Tortoise and the Hare’, where he brought his character to life! Well done Jonas!

Joanna C. - 3/4K

This award goes to Joanna for the amazing writing she has been doing. Joanna wrote a fantastic persuasive piece about why her friend Jessica deserves a ‘Hero Award’. She has taken her time to create a wonderful persuasive poster about Scoresby Primary School. Well done Joanna.

Rita V. - 3/4S

This award is presented to Rita for being able to identify persuasive devices in a text. During the week we have been learning about the different techniques authors use in their writing to persuade. Rita has been able to explain how these devices are used and has included some of these techniques in a poster to promote Scoresby Primary School. Well done Rita.

Ella K. - 5/6F

This award goes to Ella  for displaying the Scoresby HEART value of excellence. She contributes to class discussions and completes work to her personal best. This week, Ella displayed her knowledge of data representation by transferring a set of data to frequency tables and displaying it as column graphs. She should be very proud of her achievements.

Darcy W. - 5/6M

This award goes to Darcy for his positive attitude to school and, in particular, all the extra activities that we have in 5/6.  Darcy usually remembers to attend his QuickSmart program on time and is enjoying practising our dance for the upcoming production. Darcy, never lose your enthusiasm and always keep up the ‘CAN DO’ attitude.

Holly Z. - 5/6W

This award goes to Holly for her hardworking and persistent attitude that she displays towards all aspects of her learning. With each task, Holly completes her work to a high standard and is always encouraging and supporting others to do the same. Wonderful effort Holly. I am very proud to be your teacher!

Ava S. - Performing Arts

This award goes to Ava for her aptitude learning the bass guitar part for Boris the Bassman. Well done Ava, you will be performing on the new bass guitar at our production.

Leila W. - Visual Arts

This award goes to Leila for the effort and care she demonstrated when creating a Hundertwasser style collage. Leila worked with precision when drawing wavy lines for the sky and land and thoughtfully arranged her foreground and background buildings. She always works creatively, utilising every minute in the Art room. Leila definitely is an Art room star!

Rita V. - Physical Education

This award goes to Rita for her fantastic work in netball this week. Rita tried her best during each activity and improved her netball skills. During our mini netball games, she worked hard to find an open space to receive the ball and did a wonderful job of defending and intercepting the ball. Great work Rita!

Tenzin W. - Mandarin

This award acknowledges Tenzin for being helpful in Mandarin class.  We were learning about the Chinese zodiac and Tenzin was helping other students to line up according to the order of the Chinese zodiac.  Thanks for that, Tenzin!
