What's happening in our classrooms? 

WOW! What a term so far! The Grade 2's have been so busy with their learning and enjoying the activities that are happening around the school. 

English

During this term, our English focus has been Explanation Texts. We have been learning about  macro and linking sentence, time connectives and descriptive sentences using different perspectives. We will be continuing to learn about Explanation Texts and use our Inquiry unit to create more amazing writing pieces. 

Mathematics

Tick Tock! Tick Tock! How time flies when you're having fun learning new numeracy skills. Throughout this term, we have started to learn about time. We have been focusing on the months of the year, the seasons and reading a clock to tell the time. We have also started to learn about number lines as well as how to measure length of an object using informal measurements. 

Inquiry & SWPBS

Our unit of inquiry this term is Physical and Chemical Science. The big question we will be investigating is  'What is physical and chemical science and how do we use it in our daily lives?'

We have started our investigation at home by understanding what physical and chemical science is and when we use it at home. We are going to continue our investigations throughout this term and we are very excited. 

Also this term for SWPBS we created posters that showed our understanding of using manners at school. The students got really creative and really demonstrated how to use their manners. 

Special Event

This term we had Athletics Day which the grade 2s really enjoyed themselves and had heaps of fun. Look at all the photos below of our enjoyable day.
