School Council

Dear Parents,
Every four years, each school undergoes an independent school review to ensure all required documentation, policies and programs are current and appropriate. It is also a chance to determine the school's successes and challenges. For our school, this will occur in term three of this year. To date, Tanya Lindsay-Clark has been working tirelessly reviewing and updating all relevant policies which you will see on our website. She has also been consulting strongly with the Education sub-committee of council to ensure these policies meet required standards and are ratified by council.
The next step in our school review requires your help. On Tuesday June 7 at 6:00pm, school council will be holding a parent forum where all parents are encouraged to come along and share your views on what we are doing well and should continue to do. We are also keen to know what we are doing which we should stop, and what good ideas should we start doing. This will be a very interactive evening with you letting us know how we can make our school even better than it already is. Your views are important to us and will help us form the goals and strategies of our next strategic plan. We would love you to be a part of charting our future direction. Please put this date in your diary, and stay tuned for more information via XUNO in the coming week.
At our most recent meeting, we also officially launched our new Parent Information Handbook. This is the culmination of many hours of work by Sally Wilson and her Community Engagement Committee making sure that current and prospective parents have all the information they need at their fingertips. These are available in hard copy at the office, or on our website in the Parent Portal section. A very big thank you to Sally and her team for what has turned out to be an outstanding document.
Finally, a request for assistance from our canteen. Now that we can welcome back parent volunteers, Nicole in the canteen would be very grateful if parents were able to volunteer on certain days to help lighten the load for her. If you are able to assist, please contact the office.
Regards,
Vince Scarfo
