Babies galore at Wollert!

This week we have farewelled Jayden from our Junior Learning Community Team for the rest of this term, as he and his partner await the impending arrival of their first baby. Such an exciting way to move into December. We wish Jayden and Bria the very best as they embark on one of the most joyful experiences possible. 12A are in good hands with Jordan, a fellow Junior School Team member, moving straight into Jayden's role in his absence.

As of this point of time we have no news on the impending arrival of Judith's little baby - we'll be sure to keep you posted.

Welcome to the Team

We warmly welcome Alyce Tabb and Amber Bradford to Team Wollert in 2023. Alyce will join us as a Specialist Teacher, while Amber will join one of the Professional Learning Community teams as one of our Home Room Teachers. We are still recruiting to our growing team so we look forward to introducing more staff in our next edition.

OUR FINAL SCHOOL COUNCIL FOR THE YEAR

This Wednesday is our final School Council meeting for the 2022 school year. Sweetha Subhas is our School Council President and is committed to the role of advocating for our school community and in building a strong, trusting partnership between home and school. Sweetha is supported by the following community members, further advocates and representatives of the Wollert Community: Fiona Watson, Lisa Caruana, Jodie Hutchinson, Emily Anderson and Binar Barwari.

2023 will be a time when we strengthen community voice in growing our school for the benefit of our children. These names will become more familiar to you during next year as communication and opportunities for feedback becomes more visible. Any community business that comes from our final meeting will be shared with you via Compass or our final December Newsletter.

SCHOOL CANTEEN VOLUNTEERS

Thursday we are grateful to have JAYCees Catering providing lunch orders and over the counter sales. We are keen to trial the provision of some icy-poles, super doopers and perhaps some small treats for our students during our recess break on some days outside of Thursday for the rest of this term.

If you are able to volunteer time for sales from 1.45pm - 2.30pm on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Friday please email the school at wollert.ps@education.vic.gov.au. We will only need one or two volunteers to begin with so names will be added to a list  and you will be contacted if required. All volunteers need to have a Working With Children's Card registered at our Reception prior to volunteering. We thank you in advance for your time if you can offer it.

Upcoming Events

FUNFIELDS & INFLATABLE WORLD - we need your permission

As mentioned on previous pages, we want to celebrate our first year together in a day of fun and joy. However, the only way your child can attend is if you go into COMPASS and tick the box that gives permission for them to attend. Currently there are a lot of children who will not be able to join us as permission hasn't been granted. Can this occur before FRIDAY 2nd DECEMBER so that final numbers and expenses can be confirmed please.

If you are able to VOLUNTEER your time to attend either of these events please email wollert.ps@education.vic.gov.au. We will not need an exhaustive number of volunteers however by emailing us, this will assist us in our organisation and you will be contacted if your are required. All volunteers must have a Working With Children card.
