VICTORIAN PREMIERS READING CHALLENGE – THE CHALLENGE IS UP AND RUNNING
There's still time to challenge yourself to read 15 books or more, please see Ms Wyatt in the Senior Library if you have any questions or having trouble logging on.
All fiction books which have been read already this term, can be included i.e. class sets - Blueback and The Bone Sparrow (Year 7 and 8).
There are over 12,000 titles on the VPRC reading list, and a book for everyone. On completion, students will receive a Certificate of Achievement signed by the Premier of Victoria. The Challenge finishes in early September, so you’ve plenty of time to read them. I’ve a tub full of VPRC recommended books, even quick reads, to get you started. Every book read will accumulate points for your class, earning the title "2021 Challenge Winning Class" and a donuts lunch is rewarded to the winners as an incentive. A running scoreboard will be on display in the Senior Library office.
"The challenge is on".
BOOK WEEK IS IN AUGUST
It is book week during the 20th to the 26th of August, and this year's theme is "Dreaming with eyes open" and I'd like to ask staff and students to provide a photo of themselves reading their favourite book/s and ONLY showing their EYES. Hats could be worn to make it harder to identify you.
Prizes are given for guessing the correct identities.
Below are some photos to start your creativity.
I also wanted to give you plenty of preparation time as we will also be holding a free dress day for your book costumes on Wednesday, 24th August.
FRIENDLY REMINDER
All FLC (Junior School Library) books to be returned before the end of term.
Please see Ms Wyatt to borrow Senior School Library books for holiday reading.
