Faith at St Joseph's...

1st Eucharist

Congratulations to the following students who celebrated their 1st Eucharist at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Shoreham.  Sam Bampton, Jacob Browne, Charlie Saunders and mMaddie Saunders.  A special thanks to the parishioners at St. Peter’s for making our families so welcome and to Father Shymon for celebrating the Mass with the children.

Celebrating  Reconciliation Week

As we celebrate Reconciliation Week in Australia we acknowledge the traditional owners of this land. Here is the beautiful Acknowledgement to country, developed by our student leaders and staff and read at each school assembly.

We would like to acknowledge the Boon Wurrung people and their elders past, present and future and thank them for taking such great care of Biik.

This is shown through the beautiful wetlands at our school that have many Indigenous trees and shrubs.

We have had many visits from Waang, kookaburras, Walert possums, tawny frogmouths, wood ducks, rainbow lorikeets and the shy currawong.

We would like to thank the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples for their ways of knowing that have inspired our sustainability programs throughout the school and wider community.
