Year 5/6 News
Movie Night Extravaganza
Last Wednesday, Year 5 and 6 students held their ‘Movie Night Extravaganza!’.
As the evening was the ‘Premier’, the students arrived for the red carpet event dressed to the nines. Displayed throughout were the students Movie and Music Posters, advertising the films.
After the paparazzi took photographs and the ‘Stars’ took time to catch up with each other, all students and their families filed into their classrooms. There was a count down and the show began. Laughter, oohing and clapping could be heard from the classrooms throughout the screening. The show was clearly a hit! There was a walk down memory lane, with a special viewing of our ‘stars’ before they were famous. The grade Fives enjoyed watching themselves as six years olds in the Numbat and Friends video “Respect”. The Sixes loved seeing their seven year old selves singing and dancing to their anti-bulling video “Bully”.
A wonderful night was had by all. A special thanks to the producers and art directors Zach, Mrs Stewart and Ms. Kupfer for all the work they put into the show.

Trivia Night 2017
This year’s Trivia Night is almost here and promises to be another great night on the school social calendar. All table request were fulfilled and you should have received an email from your table captain re payment. If you have not yet paid you can do so at https://www.trybooking.com/RIIR
Trivia night is also one of our only fundraising events for the year and we are keen to maximise donations to secure as many funds for the school as possible.
There are two main ways you can donate:
- Wine/alcohol for the Wine Barrow raffle – to date we haven’t had a lot of donations. This is one of the main fundraisers for the night and we would love to have a barrow brimming with alcohol to encourage ticket sales. You can make your donations to the office every day this week.
- Vouchers. We are looking to auction off a number of voucher hampers and are looking for donations of vouchers to add to the hampers. Why not add a Coles Myer, Movie voucher etc in to the shopping this week and likewise drop them off to the office before Friday 4pm
For the near 200 of you who are coming on the night we look forward to seeing you….. there will be a few items to bid for on the night – but don’t forget some cash for the wine barrow raffle ($5 for 1, $10 for 3 or $20 for 8)
